Belshina vs Gorodeya: Hosts can shade cagey contest

Kick-off: 1500, 03/04/2020

Stadium: Spartak Stadium

Belshina and Gorodeya have both made a slow start to the new Vysshaya Liga campaign in Belarus and a tight tussle looks on the cards in Bobruisk.

Neither side has picked up a point from the first two rounds of fixtures, with just one goal scored between them in four fixtures so far.

That evidence and past stats point to 31/50 for ‘no’ in the both teams to score market being a rock-solid Belshina vs Gorodeya prediction.

A Look At Belshina’s Betting Odds

Belshina, named after a local tyre manufacturing company, are back in the top flight after being relegated in 2017, but any hopes of repeating their 2001 title triumph were always slim.

Eduard Gradonoev recruited heavily over the winter, including the capture of Russian holding midfielder Mikhail Bashilov from Friday’s opponents.

Former Belarus Under-21s international Dmitri Rekish was another decent addition and the feeling is that they have done enough to survive at this level.

Leonid Kovel, who won 17 caps for Belarus in his younger days, gave Belshina an early lead first up against FC Minsk at this venue and they were still ahead at half-time, but the visitors rallied to prevail 3-1.

A 1-0 loss at Torpedo followed last weekend, although it should be noted that both of those conquerors have claimed maximum points at this stage.

We believe the hosts have shown enough in each match to be worth another chance here and Belshina vs Gorodeya odds.

A Look At Gorodeya’s Betting Odds

Gorodeya did well last season, ending up seventh in the table after previously finishing ninth for three straight years.

Picking up 20 of their 44 points on the road was a sterling effort, especially after claiming just one point from their opening four fixtures.

However, they have again been off the pace in the early exchanges this term, losing 1-0 at Vitebsk and then 2-0 at home to Shakhtyor.

Oleg Radushko has some talent in his squad, with Serbian defender Milan Joksimovic, midfielder Sergey Pushnyakov and Russian forward Artem Arkhipov among the better players.

We need to see more spark from them before offering our support, though, and 11/2 for a 1-0 home win completes the Belshina vs Gorodeya betting tips.
