Belarus vs Netherlands: Dutch to be more focused in Minsk

Kick-off: 1700, 13/10/2019

Stadium: Dinamo Stadion

TV: Sky Sports

Netherlands were almost caught napping by Northern Ireland on Thursday night but will hopefully be more on the ball when visiting Belarus in Euro 2020 Group C.

A fully focused Dutch outfit should be able to secure a smooth success in Minsk, against opponents who have failed to score in their last four home games.

That last stat makes 3/5 for an away win to nil an obvious option for our opening Belarus vs Netherlands prediction.

A Look At Belarus’ Betting Odds

Belarus blew a golden opportunity to end that barren run in front of their own fans when held to a goalless stalemate by Estonia.

Star man Stanislav Dragun was denied a breakthrough by Sergei Lepmets, while Konstantin Vassiljev hit the post for the visitors.

Mikhail Markhel had previously started his reign as head coach with a 2-1 triumph in Estonia, but that was a rare positive result for the White Wings.

Belarus were beaten 4-0 by Holland in Rotterdam at the start of their campaign and lost 2-0 to Germany before going down 1-0 to Northern Ireland in a June double-header on home turf.

Last month’s 1-0 friendly loss in Wales was another drab performance and it will be a surprise if they trouble an experienced Dutch defence.

There haven’t been any hammerings at home, though, so 11/10 for Holland to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 appeals from the Belarus vs Netherlands odds.

A Look At Netherlands’ Betting Odds

Netherlands looked in trouble when trailing Northern Ireland in the 75th minute after the inability of both Matthijs De Ligt and Daley Blind to clear led to Josh Magennis heading in.

However, Holland struck three times in the last 10 minutes to turn things around, with Memphis Depay bagging a brace either side of Luuk De Jong’s scrappy strike.

Ronald Koeman commented: “We had a lot of possession but we were not able to do much and we got sloppy.”

De Jong added: “It’s a strength of this team that we can win games this way. Some matches ask for a different approach, so you have to be ready for that.

“Of course, it wasn’t the best first 60-70 minutes, but I’m proud that we kept fighting and eventually got the win.”

The Dutch are now in pole position in Group C, with last month’s superb 4-2 win in Germany and a 4-0 romp away to Estonia helping them to amass 12 points from five games.

This looks another good chance to close in on qualification for a first major tournament since 2014 and 19/4 for Holland to oblige 2-0 completes our Belarus vs Netherlands betting tips.
