BATE Borisov vs Torpedo: Goals on the cards

Kick-off: 1800, 18/04/2020

Stadium: Borisov Arena

Belarusian powerhouses BATE Borisov will aim to continue their superb home form when they take on early front-runners Torpedo in Barysaw.

BATE saw their 13-year dominance come to an end last season when Dinamo Brest clinched their maiden league title, with the 2020 Vysshaya Liga campaign starting disastrously with two opening defeats.

Torpedo finished sixth during the previous campaign but have been the surprise package to sit at the top of the pile in the early stages.

This contest is usually quite entertaining, with 14 of the last 18 head-to-head clashes resulting in both teams scoring.

With both in reasonable form, we fancy this to happen again at 11/10 for our initial BATE vs Torpedo prediction.

A Look At BATE Borisov’s Betting Odds

After 13 consecutive seasons of winning the Vysshaya Liga, Kirill Alshevsky was appointed as head coach to regain the Belarusian top-flight crown but he endured a difficult start to his BATE tenure.

Borisov opened up with defeats at Energetik and Slavia Mozyr before finally getting their first win against newcomers Ruh Brest.

Another loss to Mozyr in the cup continued their away day blues but they banished them last weekend with a 3-0 victory at FC Minsk.

BATE have a dominant home record, winning 14 of their last 16 league and cup clashes and losing only one.

They have, however, conceded in eight of their last 13 home matches in league or cup action and in Zhodino’s last 20 away matches in all competitions, 13 have seen over 2.5 goals.

This fixture has involved three or more goals in eight of the last 10 outings and we believe it is a great price of 19/20 from the BATE vs Torpedo odds to do so once more.

A Look At Torpedo Zhodino’s Betting Odds

Torpedo have gone about their business quietly this season as they perch themselves at the top of the Vysshaya Liga.

Zhodino started the season with losses to holders Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the quarter-finals of the Belarus Cup, but have bounced back in style by defeating the same opponents 1-0 away from home in the opening league game.

Another 1-0 win at home to promoted Belshina followed, only to lose 2-0 at Dinamo Minsk to end their 100 per cent start to the 2020 league campaign.

A 2-0 success against leaders Energetik last weekend saw them leapfrog their visitors to sit at the summit, with BATE aiming to knock them off with victory.

Zhodino have lost four of their last six away league matches and it will seem difficult to overcome BATE at the Borisov Arena, but they are a great price to get a possible result.

We are looking at the Home No Bet market, which means you will get your money back if BATE win, and Torpedo are an appealing 7/5 to claim three points in this market and round off our BATE vs Torpedo betting tips.
