Fleetwood to beat Northampton @ Evens
John Sheridan has done a good job in steadying the ship at Highbury. He took over when the Cod Army were on an eight-match losing run but stopped the rot with a trio of League One draws and then enjoyed a 2-0 success at Rochdale on Tuesday night. Dale had plenty of possession but rarely troubled a resolute Fleetwood defence and we’re following Town in our football accumulator tips.
Shrewsbury to beat AFC Wimbledon @ 4/5
The Shrews are still hoping to secure automatic promotion from League One but know that the pressure from big guns Blackburn and Wigan is likely to be relentless. Paul Hurst’s side missed the chance to go top of the table when drawing 1-1 at Northampton in midweek but had won their previous three games in good fashion and are fancied to pick up maximum points here.
Carlisle to beat Cambridge @ 6/5
The Cumbrians could still scrape into the League Two play-offs with a strong end to the season, but this is the type of match they must win to make that happen. Recent draws against Exeter and Crawley were solid efforts, but Carlisle now need to rediscover the sparkle which previously brought four straight wins. One plus point is that Cambridge concede plenty of goals on the road.
Coventry to beat Grimsby @ 3/4
Grimsby have been in freefall over the past three months, picking up just five points in a 17-match winless run, and a return to the Conference could well be on the cards. Coventry’s League Two form has picked up since losing the distraction of the FA Cup, with Mark Robins’ side securing three wins and an entertaining 2-2 draw with high-flying Luton from their last four games.
Luton to beat Barnet @ 11/20
Luton’s League Two title challenge has stalled during a run of four draws and a defeat in five matches, but this looks a golden opportunity for the Hatters to get back on track. Basement dwellers Barnet have re-appointed Martin Allen for a fifth spell in charge after Graham Westley lasted just over two months in the hotseat and are easy to oppose in our football accumulator tips.
