Manchester City sensation Erling Haaland will be even more fired up than usual for Wednesday’s Premier League trip to Leeds.
The 22-year-old Norway international returns to the place of his birth, with his dad Alfie having played for the Whites from 1997 to 2000.
Haaland has taken England’s top flight by storm, with 18 goals in 13 league appearances, and 6/5 for him to outscore United on his own is our first Leeds vs Man City prediction.
Leeds United Odds
After a positive start to the campaign quickly faded, Leeds were rejuvenated by wins over Liverpool and Bournemouth.
However, a 4-3 loss at Tottenham highlighted their frailties, with the Whites leading three times in London but blowing it late on.
Performances are still too erratic to gain any momentum and manager Jesse Marsch needs to find ways of controlling games better.
Marsch has come under heavy fire from a section of fans this season and Leeds return to action just two points above the relegation zone.
Their situation is unlikely to improve before the turn of year, with this daunting test followed by a tough trip to Newcastle.
Looking at the Leeds vs Man City odds, we like 19/5 for the Blues to win by four goals or more.
They romped to a 4-0 victory at Elland Road last term after routing the Whites 7-0 in Manchester!
Last Leeds line-up: Meslier, Koch, Cooper, Struijk, Kristensen, Aaronson, Roca, Adams, Summerville, Rodrigo, Gnonto.
Manchester City Odds
City’s sky-high standards have slipped slightly this term, losing to Liverpool and Brentford, as well as dropping points against Newcastle and Villa.
However, they are still odds-on to reel in Arsenal over the second part of the season and complete a hat-trick of title triumphs.
The Blues blew away any cobwebs with Thursday’s 3-2 defeat of Liverpool in a high-class EFL Cup thriller.
Haaland, Riyad Mahrez and Nathan Ake netted as City led 18-7 in attempts on goal and 9-2 with regards shots on target.
Kevin de Bruyne disappointed at the World Cup with Belgium but rediscovered his spark, providing two assists and generally dominating throughout.
Pep Guardiola commented: “He just has to find the right fire inside of himself, just to be a little bit, I would say grumpy or upset to play his best. That is his energy inside of him.
“When this happens, what a player: run, assist to score a goal, he is more than a player.
“I know it is not easy to find every three days this consistency but he has something inside that says ‘I am going to do it, I want to fight’.
“For eight years he has done everything for this club, an absolute legend, he will be remembered forever as one of the greatest, greatest, greatest players of this club.”
De Bruyne did not feature at this venue in April but bagged a brace of goals in the home win over the Whites.
Let’s add 2/1 for him to strike at any time to our Leeds vs Man City betting tips.
Last Man City line-up: Moreno, Ake, Laporte, Akanji, Lewis, Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne, Haaland, Mahrez, Palmer.
