Sunderland could be officially relegated from the Premier League if they fail to beat Bournemouth and other results go against them this weekend.
Dropping down to the Championship is a formality following a midweek loss to Middlesbrough and the Cherries are fancied to put the Black Cats out of their misery.
Odds of 27/20 for an away win are hard to resist in our Sunderland vs Bournemouth betting tips.
A Look At Sunderland’s Betting Odds
Cries of “we want Moyesy out” came from the travelling Sunderland fans after Wednesday night’s 1-0 derby defeat at the Riverside Stadium left them with just two points from nine matches.
David Moyes remained defiant after that game and defended his players, declaring: “We have lost but there are ways to lose and the players put in a performance that would have given us a chance of winning other games.”
To be fair, the Black Cats did have 10 shots compared to Boro’s six, with four on target, so they can be fancied to get on the scoresheet if showing the same commitment.
However, we still prefer the Cherries, so 13/4 for an away win and both teams to score appeals from the Sunderland vs Bournemouth odds.
A Look At Bournemouth’s Betting Odds
Middlesbrough had previously been hammered 4-0 at Bournemouth last Saturday, with Eddie Howe’s side easing their own relegation fears by dominating that fixture from the outset.
“We started very well,” beamed Howe. “In a game of this importance, when you score as early as we did, it gives you a massive lift. Our aim was to come out fast and create a high tempo.
“It was great to see our fluency with the ball, which we didn’t have for the last couple of games. It’s important you have a philosophy the players believe in.”
With Sunderland short of confidence, Howe may look to hit the ground running here too and Bournemouth are 11/4 to lead at half-time and full-time.
