The European Championships usually take place every four years and have a rich history dating back to 1960. Germany and Spain are the most successful teams with three wins each and Portugal are the defending champions. The delayed Euro 2020 tournament will bring together 24 qualified teams in six groups of four teams, with the top two from each group and best four third-placed teams progressing to the knockout stages. The actions kicks-off on Friday 11 June with Turkey v Italy. As part of the tournament’s 60th anniversary celebrations, Euro 2020 is due to be held across 12 cities across Europe including Rome, Dublin and Budapest. London’s Wembley Stadium will host both semi-finals and the final on 11 July.

Several nations will be fancying their chances ahead of the summer. England, France and Belgium lead the betting with Spain, Netherlands and Germany closely behind. Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal and a resurgent Italy are also among the favourites.
Harry Kane will be hoping to build on his World Cup Golden Boot award and lead England to a final on home soil, but with a host of stars such as Paul Pogba, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Ramos taking to the field, fans across the continent will have their own reasons to be optimistic.
