Bet on the French Cup
The Coupe de France draw is open to all professional and amateur football clubs in France, including clubs based in overseas territories.
In the first rounds of the Coupe de France, thousands of teams participate in the competition. In total there are 14 Rounds, with the professional clubs joining the competition in Round 7. Ligue 1 clubs, placed in groups A to D, enter the competition from the thirty-second final round. Make your Ligue 1 bets now.
When there are only 64 teams left, the qualified teams are grouped into four groups by geographical area and level. If the divisional gap between clubs is two or more, the team from the highest league or division must play away at the lower team's ground.
Recommended betting on the French Cup
At the end of the match, there can only be two outcomes. Therefore, we recommend betting on the team that will qualify. Note that there is no extra time except for in the final round. Two results are possible: the qualification of the home team or the away team.
Being a knockout competition, the goal difference between the teams is quite small. With a two or three-goal lead, the leading teams tend to drop their pace in hopes of keeping the result since only qualification matters. Rather than continuing to extend the lead, it's more about keeping the clock ticking.
A penalty shootout decides the result if a match ends in a draw. The winner of the French Cup keeps the trophy for one year and qualifies for the Europa League. On our online betting platform, place your bets on the Europa League — bwin's official sponsor.
Who is the favourite to win the French Cup?
Paris Saint-Germain are the team to watch. In the last seven finals, the Parisians were present, and they won on six occasions. They can afford to rotate their starting lineup and still have a competitive team. PSG hold the record for winning the Cup on most occasions, having done so 14 times.
Another team that has managed to win ten French Cups is Olympique de Marseille, but their last Finals win was in 1989.
