UFC 270 predictions: Gane and Moreno to win title fights

We’ve got UFC 270 predictions for Saturday’s two big title fights at the Honda Center in Anaheim and will land a 2.61 double if both prevail.

The first elite-level octagon card of 2022 features championship bouts at heavyweight and flyweight and sparks are expected to fly in California.

Ciryl Gane to beat Francis Ngannou @ 1.67

Two former training partners will do battle for the title of undisputed heavyweight champ and opinions are divided over who will come out on top in many UFC 270 predictions.

There is no doubt Ngannou has the power to upset the odds after claiming early knockouts in his last five fights, notably finishing off Stipe Miocic in the second round last March.

However, he was outpointed by both Miocic and Derrick Lewis back in 2018 and there is always that worry over The Predator struggling stamina-wise if he doesn’t overwhelm Gane in the opening exchanges.

Fellow Frenchman Gane is four years younger and definitely regarded as the better all-round fighter, as well as a superior athlete in terms of working through a five-round contest if required.

After claiming unanimous decisions over Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Volkov at this distance, he dominated Lewis on route to a third-round TKO.

With the confidence of also securing a couple of submission victories on his CV, Gane can do it all and is the percentage pick in our UFC 270 predictions.

Brandon Moreno to beat Deiveson Figueiredo @ 1.56

This will be the third encounter between these flyweight warriors and Moreno is a worthy favourite in the UFC 270 odds after an outstanding triumph in their last clash.

Moreno took plenty of punishment and had to battle through some worrying moments when earning a draw in the trilogy opener in December 2020.

However, he was on top from the outset during last June’s rematch and totally controlled that bout before forcing Figueiredo to tap out in round three with a rear-naked choke.

Figueiredo has been working with Henry Cejudo ahead of this showdown and looks in great shape, so can’t be taken lightly.

However, Moreno is six years younger at 28 and The Assassin Baby can remain on an upward curve to keep the title belt in Mexico.
