Green Bay are expected to prove too strong for the New York Giants in the second of this year’s NFL London games but the underdogs appeal on the spread.

The Packers are chasing a fourth straight win but only just scrambled to the last couple of victories and lack attacking weapons out wide.

We feel 10/11 for the Giants with 8.5 points start is tempting enough for the first of our NFL London predictions.

Green Bay Packers Odds

Green Bay are eyeing a fourth straight NFC North division title after tying superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers down to a new contract which will earn him more than $150million over the next three years.

However, Rodgers won’t have been happy to see wide receivers Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling depart during the summer and the Packers are struggling in that department.

After kicking off the new season with a 23-7 loss at Minnesota, they eased to a smooth 27-10 success versus Chicago.

Two more wins have followed, but injury-hit opponents Tampa Bay and New England were only beaten 14-12 and 27-24, with the Patriots taking that match to overtime.

“This way of winning I don’t think is sustainable because it puts too much pressure on our defence,” commented Rodgers.

To be fair, that defence has been bolstered by the arrival of linebacker De’Vondre Campbell to replace Za’Darius Smith.

Cornerback Rasul Douglas and first-round draft picks Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt were other recruits, while edge rusher Rashan Gary is building on a hugely-promising rookie campaign.

Looking at the NFL London odds, there is plenty of appeal in the Packers to win and under 40.5 total points at 8/5.

New York Giants Odds

The Giants won just four games last season, prompting the dismissal of head coach Joe Judge, with former Buffalo offensive coordinator Brian Daboll brought in as his replacement.

This year’s draft brought fresh hope of a resurgence for their long-suffering fans, with edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux and OT Evan Neal taken at No 5 and 7 overall.

However, it has been the resurgence of running back Saquon Barkley which has inspired New York to a surprise 3-1 record so far.

After a couple of injury-hit campaigns, he has recaptured his early sparkle of 2018 and 2019 to lead the league in yards gained on the ground.

With quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor both suffering injuries during last week’s clash with the Bears, Barkley carried the Giants to a 20-12 victory.

New York have had a favourable schedule, with their other two wins coming against Tennessee and Carolina, but they were also competitive in a 23-16 loss to Dallas.

If Jones can shrug off an ankle sprain, this could be closer than many pundits are predicting.

Let’s go with 7/2 for the favourites to oblige by just 1-6 points for our final Green Bay Packers vs New York Giants prediction.
