Arizona Coyotes vs Winnipeg Jets predictions

Face-off: 2100 ET, 04/01/2022

Venue: Gila River Arena

Winnipeg have secured two straight wins under new boss Dave Lowry and can complete a hat-trick when visiting a struggling Arizona outfit.

The Coyotes upset the Jets in a scrappy contest in Canada at the end of November but that was one of only six wins in 30 outings this term.

We reckon revenge is on the cards and 1.78 for an away victory in regular time is the first of our Arizona Coyotes vs Winnipeg Jets predictions.

Arizona Coyotes Odds

Arizona’s home clash with Dallas was postponed on Sunday, meaning their only outing for 16 days was an 8-7 shoot-out loss at San Jose a week ago.

Lawson Crouse and Janis Moser both scored twice against the Sharks, while Phil Kessel provided four assists.

“I liked the character we showed,” said head coach Andre Tourigny. “We came back from behind a few times and came back to tie the game.

“We showed a lot of passion, so there’s a lot of positives and a lot of stuff to work on.”

Arizona had previously ended a run of six straight defeats by shading Anaheim 6-5 in overtime in mid-December, so they have found some rhythm going forward.

However, conceding 40 goals in eight games will always make it hard to pick up points.

Looking at the 3.3 for an away win and both teams to score at least twice.

Winnipeg Jets Odds

Winnipeg’s 5-4-1 record over the past 10 matches sums up their mixed campaign, but they could still make a push for the play-offs, especially if Lowry’s honeymoon period continues.

What stands out about their wins under the new regime is that the Jets have beaten the top two teams in the Western Conference table.

St Louis were seen off 4-2 at Canada Life Centre before Christmas and play resumed with a 5-4 overtime triumph in Vegas.

Kyle Connor’s 19th goal of the season clinched a thrilling victory over the Golden Knights, who had tied things up with just eight seconds left in regular time.

Lowry has been content to go back to basics since stepping up following the surprise departure of long-time leader Paul Maurice.

“You look at goals that are scored throughout the league, this isn’t rocket science,” he declared. “It’s simple, hard hockey.”

The Jets should be sharper for that first outing in a fortnight and now face inferior foes on all known form.

Let’s add 15.0 for a 5-2 scoreline.
