Edmonton Oilers vs St Louis Blues predictions

Face-off: 2100 ET, 01/04/2022

Arena: Rogers Place

Edmonton and St Louis are both in fine form and currently heading for the playoffs, so this has all the makings of a cracking contest.

The Oilers have claimed eight straight victories at Rogers Place, while the Blues have been successful on three of their past four road trips.

These teams had two tough battles at Enterprise Center earlier this term and 4.2 for overtime to be needed here is a value bet for our Edmonton Oilers vs St Louis Blues predictions.

Edmonton Oilers Odds

Edmonton are third in the Pacific Division, just three points behind second-placed Los Angeles with two games in hand after shading the Kings 4-3 in a shootout on Wednesday.

Connor McDavid reached 100 points in a season for the fifth time in his career with a goal and an assist, while Leon Draisaitl netted for the 49th time this term.

The Oilers can now tie the franchise record for consecutive home victories and coach Jay Woodcroft said: “I think our players feel the juice in the building.

“I think there’s a really good atmosphere here. We play in front of the best fans in the world and we want to make this building a really tough two points to take out of.

“We want to make sure opponents know that when they come into this building, they have the whole city of Edmonton against them.”

It is hard to bet against Edmonton in their current mood, so 12.0 for another 4-3 triumph takes the eye from the NHL odds.

St Louis Blues Odds

St Louis have nudged above Nashville into third spot in the Central Division after beating Vancouver twice in three days this week.

The Blues prevailed 4-1 on home ice and then 4-3 in Canada to give us a couple of successful selections in our match preview.

Ryan O’Reilly had a goal and an assist at Rogers Arena and Nick Leddy netted for the first time since joining from Detroit.

“It was an all-around good game for us and something to build on for sure,” said David Perron, who had a couple of assists.

However, leading points scorer Jordan Kyrou was a late scratch through illness and would be sorely missed if absent again.

Even so, this should be a close encounter and we’re adding 2.05 for both teams to score in the second period to our NHL predictions.

That bet would have paid out in each of their meetings in St Louis this season.
