Edmonton have made hard work of getting past Los Angeles in the Stanley Cup playoffs but still get a confident vote to come good in Game 7.
The Oilers showed their mettle with a 4-2 triumph at Crypto.com Arena on Friday and will now be roared on by a vociferous home crowd in Canada.
We like 2.15 for a home win by more than one clear goal in our Edmonton Oilers vs Los Angeles Kings predictions.
Edmonton Oilers Odds
Our followers enjoyed a nice 7.25 pay-out on Edmonton to win Game 6 by exactly two goals, with a couple of late strikes doing the trick.
Connor McDavid and Evander Kane put the Oilers in control, only for Sean Durzi and Carl Grundstrom to reply for the Kings.
However, Tyson Barrie put Edmonton back in front at 14.50 in the third period and Kane made sure with a 19:00 empty-net goal.
Head coach Jay Woodcroft declared: “I thought our players really dug in and found a way to win.”
Barrie added: “We gave it back to them a little bit, but we didn’t break and we found a way to get one and I think it shows a lot of character in that group.
“Now we’ve got home ice and we’re headed back for Game 7. I think the boys are pretty pumped.”
With McDavid and Leon Draisaitl continuing to impress up front, attack could be the best form of defence for the Oilers here.
Looking at the 3.0 for a home win in regular time and both teams to score at least twice.
Los Angeles Kings Odds
Los Angeles have done better than most people expected by taking this tie to a decider and it’s hard not to admire the spirit shown.
Captain Anze Kopitar was pragmatic after the Game 6 loss, stating: “We would have liked to close it out, but it didn’t happen and we’ve got to move on and look ahead to Saturday.”
Kopitar got his 48th playoff assist on Durzi’s goal and now only trails Wayne Gretzky in that department for the Kings.
Adrian Kempe, Phillip Danault and Trevor Moore have also played a big part in taking this series right down to the wire.
Their experience will be of great benefit when travelling north of the border, but we just fear the star quality of McDavid and Draisaitl will shine through.
We’re adding 16.0 for a 5-2 scoreline.
Los Angeles 2-4 Edmonton, Edmonton 4-5 Los Angeles, Los Angeles 4-0 Edmonton, Los Angeles 2-8 Edmonton, Edmonton 6-0 Los Angeles, Edmonton 3-4 Los Angeles
Regular season head-to-head: Los Angeles 2-3 Edmonton, Edmonton 4-3 Los Angeles, Los Angeles 2-5 Edmonton, Edmonton 1-5 Los Angeles
