Wrexham and Sheffield United are both on course for promotion from their respective divisions but put those ambitions on hold as they meet in the FA Cup fourth round.

Wrexham are three points clear at the top of the National League while United are second in the Championship and heading for a return to the Premier League.

Both teams are playing with confidence but the three-division gap between them makes an away win at 4/5 look a solid pick as our first Wrexham vs Sheff Utd prediction.

Wrexham Odds

Wrexham have only lost two league games this season and they were away to the teams currently occupying second and third place.

They are yet to drop a point at home and have scored 44 goals in their 12 wins here, so the task facing the visitors should not be underestimated.

The Dragons enjoyed comfortable home wins against Oldham (3-0) and Farnborough (4-1) in the first two rounds before going to Championship side Coventry and causing an upset with a thrilling 4-3 victory.

They were cruising through at 4-1 up against 10 men after an hour but were left hanging on as Coventry pulled two goals back, despite having Jonathan Panzo sent off.

Wrexham are in fine form and beat Gateshead 3-0 on Tuesday night, with Paul Mullin scoring the last goal to take his tally to 26 in 30 appearances in all competitions.

That was their first clean sheet in six matches though, so they do have issues in defence, but have scored at least two goals in nine successive matches.

With that in mind, it should be an entertaining game on Sunday, so both teams to score and over 3.5 goals appeals at 5/2 in the Wrexham vs Sheff Utd odds.

Sheffield United Odds

United’s main focus may be a return to the Premier League but with a 13-point lead over third-placed Watford they can also afford to dream of a decent FA Cup run.

The financial rewards of that may come in handy, with the club last week placed under a transfer embargo for missing a scheduled instalment on a previous transfer fee.

Finances remain tight at Bramall Lane but boss Paul Heckingbottom has plenty of options if he chooses to freshen up his team, with experienced strikers Oli McBurnie and Billy Sharp having started the previous game on the bench.

Incredibly, Sharp was also a substitute when these teams last met in the EFL Cup in 2004!

Eleven wins from their last 13 matches suggests United are playing too well to suffer an upset and having enjoyed two 3-1 wins in the last month, the same score again at 25/2 completes our Wrexham vs Sheff Utd betting tips.
