Brazil seemed a touch careless in the first half of Friday’s 2-2 draw with Colombia but will hopefully be more focused when facing Peru in Los Angeles.
The Selecao beat Los Incas twice when hosting this summer’s Copa America, romping to a 5-0 victory in the group stage and then prevailing 3-1 in the final.
With Ricardo Gareca less than enthusiastic over friendly matches, we’re going with the favourites to oblige without conceding at 27/20 for our initial Brazil vs Peru prediction.
A Look At Brazil’s Betting Odds
Brazil led Colombia in Miami after Casemiro headed in a corner on 20 minutes but were then behind at the break following a double by Luis Muriel, who converted a penalty and finished off a fine team move.
The Selecao grew stronger as the game went on, though, and levelled when Neymar took advantage of a Philippe Coutinho assist.
“It was a difficult game, but I think that we had more chances and we could have won,” said Brazil captain Dani Alves. “It’s left a bitter taste in our mouth.”
Head coach Tite was buoyed by a strong showing from Neymar, despite the PSG superstar lacking game time this term, but he may be used sparingly here, if at all.
However, Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino and Everton striker Richarlison are available up front, along with Real Madrid prodigy Vinicius Junior.
Looking at the Brazil vs Peru odds, we like 13/2 for the Selecao to triumph 2-0.
A Look At Peru’s Betting Odds
Peru have plenty of experience in their squad but the pressure is on other players to step up in the absence of ageing strikers Jefferson Farfan and Paolo Guerrero.
Los Incas showed mixed form during the pool stage of Copa America but then impressed in knocking out Uruguay and Chile before losing the decider.
Their record in friendlies does give cause for concern, though, with just three wins in the last 11 such contests after losing 1-0 to Ecuador in the USA last week.
They have also lost to Ecuador again, El Salvador and Colombia without scoring over the past 12 months and are easy to oppose here.
Let’s add 23/20 for the Selecao to lead at half-time and full-time to our Brazil vs Peru betting tips.
