Man Utd vs FC Copenhagen: Red Devils to see off spirited foes

Kick-off: 2000, 10/08/2020

Stadium: RheinEnergieStadion

FC Copenhagen are expected to prove game, but outgunned opponents when taking on Manchester United in the Europa League quarter-finals.

The Danish outfit have a direct style of play which may cause a few problems, but the Red Devils are still rated a class apart in Cologne.

We’re going with 37/20 for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to win and both teams to score for our first Man Utd vs FC Copenhagen prediction.

A Look At Manchester United’s Betting Odds

Having claimed a 5-0 first-leg lead back in March, Solskjaer was able to rest most of his regular starters for Wednesday’s 2-1 triumph over LASK Linz.

United were lacklustre throughout that contest, but Jesse Lingard and substitute Anthony Martial eventually helped to secure a come-from-behind victory.

“We found it a little bit hard in the beginning to find a rhythm in our passing and we didn’t create chances,” admitted Solskjaer.

“But some of these players needed game time. We needed to win the game, we wanted to win the game and it’s job done.”

It would be a surprise if the Red Devils do not bring back most of the big guns who impressed in earning third place in the Premier League.

The likes of Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford are a cut above anything Copenhagen have to offer and this is an excellent opportunity to reach the semi-finals.

An ongoing battle between Rashford and Martial to top United’s scoring charts, with the latter now 23-22 ahead, also points to more goals coming.

Looking at the Man Utd vs FC Copenhagen odds, we like 21/20 for the Red Devils to hit the back of the net at least three times.

A Look At FC Copenhagen’s Betting Odds

Copenhagen had work to do after losing 1-0 to Basaksehir in Istanbul but turned that tie around in emphatic fashion with a 3-0 home win.

Jonas Wind netted early on in each half and Rasmus Falk gave the Danish side some breathing space on the hour mark.

Head coach Stale Solbakken hailed a “fantastic performance”, while Wind told the UEFA website: “We scored three and could well have scored more.

“We delivered a class performance and it is a demonstration of power to beat the Turkish champions.”

Copenhagen were below par when runners-up in Denmark’s top flight last season, finishing 14 points adrift of Midtjylland.

They were also only moderate during the Europa League group stage, but a 3-1 away win over Celtic in the first knockout round is another warning to United.

Attack-minded full-back Guillermo Varela was once a £2.4million recruit at Old Trafford, so he will be up for this test.

We feel the Danes will make their presence felt, but are sticking with 10/1 for the Red Devils to oblige 3-1 to finish off our Man Utd vs FC Copenhagen betting tips.
