Kicking off the SPL action this week are Aberdeen and Hibernian, before Dundee host St Johnstone, Hearts welcome Kilmarnock, Dundee United travel north to Inverness, St Mirren play Ross County and top plays third when Motherwell and Celtic round off a busy Saturday.

Punters registering with bwin can claim a free £20 bet and there are plenty of intriguing tips upon which it could be used in each of the six matches this weekend.

Saturday, September 27th

Aberdeen v Hibernian (12 noon)

Home win: Evens   Draw: 9/4   Away win: 12/5

Key stat: Aberdeen have not won at home since the first week of April.

Betting tip: After a terrible winless run at Pittodrie, don’t expect the Dons to take three points easily against second-placed Hibernian. A Double Chance bet on a win or draw for the away side could be smart at 18/25 odds.

Dundee v St Johnstone (3.00pm)

Home win: 11/5   Draw: 11/5   Away win: 11/10

Key stat: St Johnstone have won three in a row in the SPL.

Betting tip: With the Saints winning three on the trot, they should expect another three points against the league’s bottom side, making a bet on an away win very appealing. They did concede in all three of those victories though, so both teams to score, at 87/100, could be worth a punt too.

Hearts v Kilmarnock (3.00pm)

Home win: 17/20   Draw: 12/5   Away win: 11/4

Key stat: Only three goals were scored in the three meetings between these sides last season.

Betting tip: We could be in for another low-scoring affair at Tynecastle, making a bet on under 2.5 goals well worth considering at 3/5, while under 1.5 goals could pay off even more at a price of 7/4.

Inverness CT v Dundee United (3.00pm)

Home win: 19/10   Draw: 11/5   Away win: 5/4

Key stat: United have scored on their last five trips to Inverness.

Betting tip: It would be foolish to bet against an away goal being scored in this one, especially with Inverness yet to keep a clean sheet in the league. Add to that Dundee United’s impressive scoring record in the Highlands and it is surely worth investing heavily in the visitors notching once again, despite short-looking odds of 1/4.

Motherwell v Celtic (3.00pm)

Home win: 4/1   Draw: 13/5   Away win: 3/5

Key stat: Celtic have won eight of their last ten matches against Motherwell with clean sheets.

Betting tip: Motherwell were slightly embarrassed to lose to Third Division Rangers in the Scottish League Cup in midweek by a 2-0 scoreline. They’ll be hoping to avoid another scoreless defeat when they take on the other half of the Old Firm on Saturday. Don’t bet on it though – in fact, bet against it, with the 7/4 odds on Celtic to win to nil.

St Mirren v Ross County (3.00pm)

Home win: 11/10   Draw: 11/5   Away win: 11/5

Key stat: Ross County have scored just once away from home this season.

Betting tip: While newly-promoted Ross County have struggled on the road, St Mirren have been impressing, especially at home. The Saints have back-to-back clean sheets at St Mirren Park and odds of 29/20 should tempt you to put your money on another one this Saturday.
