Last year's Copa America champions Argentina will be all the rage to top the Group C table, with Lionel Messi chasing the one major trophy he has yet to lift. Mexico and Poland are solid opponents but may be left fighting it out for second ahead of Saudi Arabia.

Having reached the last 16 at the previous seven editions, Mexico will be hoping that an ageing squad can at least get past the group stage once more after splitting Canada and USA in their CONCACAF qualifying section, although they did lose to Argentina in 2006 and 2010.

Poland have some talented individuals, spearheaded by talismanic striker Robert Lewandowski, but third-place efforts in 1974 and 1982 are a distant memory following a third consecutive group-stage exit at Russia 2018, while they also crashed out early at Euro 2020.

Saudi Arabia progressed to the knockout rounds at their first World Cup in 1994 but have failed to repeat that feat in four subsequent attempts, including when starting out with a 5-0 loss to hosts Russia four years ago, although they did close that campaign by beating Egypt.
