A close encounter is on the cards when South Korea and Ghana clash in Al Rayyan but a draw would not really suit either side here.
With Portugal and Uruguay also competing in Group H, both of these teams will surely be looking to pick up maximum points from this match.
We reckon 6/5 for either side to win by one goal is the way to go with our first South Korea vs Ghana prediction.
South Korea Odds
South Korea played out a disappointing goalless draw with Uruguay at this venue, as none of the big-name players on show were able to raise the game above mediocre.
Son Heung-min, wearing a protective facemask after surgery to a fractured eye socket sustained playing for Tottenham, struggled to influence the match.
His one half-chance came in the 90th minute from 20 yards out but he dragged his effort just wide.
The Taegeuk Warriors dominated early possession but failed to create any clear-cut chances.
Uruguay came more into the game and were twice denied by the woodwork from long range late on, but a draw was a fair result.
It would be no surprise to see defences on top again in the first half here and 29/20 for 0-0 at the break stands out from the South Korea vs Ghana odds.
Ghana Odds
Ghana’s opening clash with Portugal was very much a game of two contrasting halves.
A cagey contest did not look like catching fire until Cristiano Ronaldo’s 65th-minute penalty lit the blue touch paper for an explosive half an hour.
Andre Ayew’s equaliser briefly put the Black Stars back on level terms but a quickfire double from Joao Felix and substitute Rafael Leao left them reeling.
Osman Bukari hit a late second for Ghana and Inaki Williams almost caught goalkeeper Diogo Costa napping, but Portugal prevailed 3-2.
Coach Otto Addo felt his side had been somewhat hard done by, stating: “We really did well and up to the penalty, everything was possible.
“We allowed less chances – there were two or three half-chances from Portugal. Then (after the penalty), the game got a little bit wild.
“Inaki at the end could have scored the third goal, but Portugal are one of the world’s best-ranked football teams and I think we really did well.”
With former Brighton, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest boss Chris Hughton acting as technical adviser, Ghana should be a well-drilled side.
Thomas Partey has played a big part in Arsenal powering five points clear in the Premier League this season and the £45million capture brings discipline and determination to the engine room.
Persuading Athletic Bilbao forward Williams to switch allegiance from Spain was also a major coup.
We’re leaning towards the Black Stars shading a tight tussle, so 10/3 for them to win by one goal is added to our South Korea vs Ghana betting tips.
In the first scorer market, Williams has netted five times for Bilbao in La Liga this term and this would be a great time for him to open his account for Ghana.
The 28-year-old is 11/2 to break the deadlock at Education City Stadium.
