England U21 vs Germany U21: Three Lions value to advance

England have made good progress throughout the European Under-21 Championship and are rated a value bet at odds against to reach the final at the expense of Germany.

The Three Lions were crushed 4-0 by the same opponents in the 2009 decider, but that Germany side featured Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels, Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil.

Aidy Boothroyd’s team will not face anything of that calibre in Tychy and appeal at 11/10 to advance in our England U21 vs Germany U21 betting tips.

England began their Group A campaign with a goalless draw against Sweden and had to come from behind to edge out Slovakia 2-1, but they were far more convincing against Poland on Thursday.

Demarai Gray, Jacob Murphy and Lewis Baker from the penalty spot were on target versus the hosts, while James Ward-Prowse also impressed with his free-kicks.

“The Polish team are big and strong at the back and we felt the best way to give them problems was to play two nippy players between the lines,” said Boothroyd. “I thought the two of them (Gray and Nathan Redmond) were excellent.

“Then Tammy Abraham came on and added another dimension. We’re getting better and better all the time. I think there’s more to come from our side. We should be tip-top by Tuesday.”

Looking at the England U21 vs Germany U21 odds, we like 21/10 for the Three Lions to prevail in normal time.

Germany got off to a bright start in Group C when beating the Czech Republic 2-0 and Denmark 3-0, with the likes of Bayern Munich recruit Serge Gnabry and prolific youth scorer Davie Selke catching the eye.

However, Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Italy highlighted how Stefan Kuntz’s side are still far from the finished article, with that being a very disjointed display.

“We were not satisfied at all with the game,” admitted Kuntz. “I talked before the game about how this was not just a technical and tactical challenge, but also a mental challenge.

“There were a lot of things I didn’t like, especially the risky build-up play.”

Germany will be dangerous going forward, but we’re still taking 21/2 for England to oblige 2-1.
