Brighton will go into their FA Cup quarter-final at Millwall in great spirits following back-to-back victories in the Premier League.
That should allow Albion to fully focus on reaching the semis at Wembley, especially as this game comes before an international break.
We’re snapping up 6/5 for the Seagulls to get the job done in normal time for our first Millwall vs Brighton prediction.
A Look At Millwall’s Betting Odds
Millwall are still very much involved in a Championship relegation battle, but Wednesday’s 2-0 win at Birmingham was a huge boost and they have done well in this competition.
The Lions beat Hull 2-1 here, before Murray Wallace’s stoppage-time stunner helped them to upset top-flight team Everton 3-2.
Wallace was again the man of the moment when he grabbed the only goal of the game at AFC Wimbledon in round five.
“In the FA Cup, you need heroes – Murray was that against Everton and he was again,” said manager Neil Harris.
This is the second time in three years that Millwall have got this far, but things ended badly in 2017 when they were thrashed 6-0 by Tottenham.
Having home advantage should help them avoid a drubbing here, but we like 17/4 for a draw at half-time and then Albion to prevail from the Millwall vs Brighton odds.
Last Millwall line-up: Martin, Cooper, Romeo, Pearce, Wallace, Thompson, Ferguson, Tunnicliffe, Leonard, Marshall, Gregory.
Millwall will hand a late fitness test to Lee Gregory, who is struggling with a calf injury.
He could yet join the cup-tied Fred Onyedinma, Ben Marshall, Ben Thompson and Murray Wallace in being ruled out. Conor McLaughlin is also a doubt owing to a quad injury.
A Look At Brighton and Hove Albion’s Betting Odds
Brighton have already knocked out three decent opponents in Bournemouth, West Brom and Derby, despite Chris Hughton using this competition to give some fringe players game time.
The Seagulls have plenty of strength in depth after spending big over the last couple of years and are reaping the rewards for that investment.
Anthony Knockaert, who cost £3million, and £14m capture Jurgen Locadia netted in a 2-1 defeat of the Rams last month, while £5.3m signing Florin Andone scored in the two previous rounds.
Even if Hughton does shuffle his pack again at The Den, he can bring in individuals rated far more highly than Millwall could ever afford.
“I knew the squad is stronger than last season, we have got good competition for places,” said the head coach.
“You can always dream. The reality is it is normally one of the top six that wins the competition; but for the likes of ourselves, it is about going as far as we can.”
We think the visitors have just too much attacking firepower here, with 13/5 for an away win and over 2.5 goals in the game finishing off our Millwall vs Brighton betting tips.
Last Brighton line-up: Ryan, Duffy, Dunk, Montoya, Bernardo, Stephens, Knockaert, Propper, Bissouma, Jahanbaksh, Murray.
Brighton forward Andone misses out because of a groin problem. Midfielder Pascal Gross also remains unavailable as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury.
Yves Bissouma is suspended after picking up two cautions in earlier ties, but Leon Balogun is fit again following a shoulder problem.
