CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal: Gunners can prevail again in Russia

Kick Off: 2005, 12/04/2018

Stadium: CSKA Arena

TV: BT Sport

Arsenal put one foot into the semi-finals of the Europa League with a 4-1 home win over CSKA Moscow and are tipped to confirm their superiority in Russia.

The Gunners were just too slick in the final third of the pitch for their opponents at Emirates Stadium and the margin of victory could have been even more emphatic.

Manchester United won comfortably at this venue in the Champions League back in September and we’re snapping up 11/10 for another away win in our CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal betting predictions.

A Look At CSKA Moscow’s Betting Odds

CSKA did briefly draw level in London thanks to a superb free-kick from Aleksandr Golovin, but manager Viktor Goncharenko admitted his side was outclassed overall.

“They outperformed us greatly, but I’m not disappointed,” he said. “Of course, it’s a very bad result for us, but we understood who is playing against us.”

Those comments suggest Goncharenko is resigned to bowing out of this competition and he even hinted Monday’s domestic derby with Dinamo Moscow was now of greater importance.

The hosts do always look capable of bagging a goal but have lost their last six games against English teams.

Looking at the CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal odds, that makes 14/5 for an away win and both teams to score stand out.

A Look At Arsenal’s Betting Odds

Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette both bagged a brace in the first leg, but it was the creativity of Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil which really caught the eye.

“We scored some great goals in the first half and at half-time the target was not to concede any more and, if possible, add another one,” commented Wenger.

“We did the first part of the job in the second half, but not the second part of the job.

“On the other hand, it will help us to focus completely in the second game and not think it’s job done.

“We know it’s not over. We have to go there with that right focus and try to win the game.”

Arsenal will be without Granit Xhaka (flu), David Ospina (ankle), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (knee) and Santi Cazorla (Achilles), while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is cup-tied.

They have a good record on the road in this competition, though, winning at BATE Borisov, Red Star Belgrade and Ostersunds.

We’re finishing off our CSKA Moscow vs Arsenal betting tips by taking 4/1 for the Gunners to oblige 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 in the multiple correct score market.
