Grand National: Three tips to follow in Aintree spectacular

We’ve got three expert Grand National tips for punters to consider ahead of this year’s big race at Aintree, all at attractive odds.

Everyone loves to have a flutter on the marathon Liverpool spectacular and this is where our money is going:

BLAKLION @ 12/1

The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained nine-year-old has been towards the head of the Grand National betting ever since finishing fourth in the race 12 months ago, when leading into the home straight before running out of gas. The gelding again showed a liking for these unique obstacles when storming home in December’s Becher Chase and looks sure to be there or thereabouts if avoiding any mishaps.

THE LAST SAMURI @ 16/1

Kim Bailey’s charge was a superb second here two years ago and again ran well for a long way last season. This term, he was a rock-solid runner-up in the Becher Chase and will hopefully have been freshened up by finishing third in the cross country contest at Cheltenham, when he seemed to really enjoy himself until just being outpaced on the run for home.

FINAL NUDGE @ 50/1

This nine-year-old was a useful novice last term, securing victories at Fakenham, Hereford and Newbury, and has continued to impress this season. A head second in Wincanton’s Badger Ales Trophy and third place in the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow are fine formlines. The gelding was not given a hard race when ninth in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham and has dark-horse appeal here.
