Los Angeles Clippers kept the Western Conference Finals alive and kicking with a superb road-trip victory over Phoenix Suns to extend the series into a sixth game.
Monty Williams’ side had lost only one of their seven post-season games at Phoenix Suns Arena – to defending champions Los Angeles Lakers in round one – but they could not clinch the deciding victory as the Clippers prevailed.
The two teams go head-to-head once again in Los Angeles in the early hours of Thursday morning, where the Clippers will be hoping home-court advantage can help force a series-decider.
The Suns will need to regroup after a surprising defeat based on current form and will travel to the Staples Center hoping to replicate their 84-80 triumph in game four.
However, Los Angeles will be buoyed by their success, especially without star man Kawhi Leonard, and a home win at 10/11 is our initial Clippers vs Suns prediction.
A Look At Los Angeles Clippers’ Betting Odds
Not many people thought Ty Lue’s side would prevail in Phoenix but they have given themselves a shot in the arm in their quest for a first ever NBA Finals appearance.
They return to the Staples Center on the back of a morale-boosting 116-102 victory, mainly due to the superb performance of Paul George.
The 31-year-old has taken his game to another level since Leonard sprained his ACL and is likely to miss the rest of the season with the issue.
George poured in 41 points and 13 rebounds as Los Angeles cut the deficit to 3-2 in the series, with Reggie Jackson’s 23 points and 22 from Marcus Morris aiding the cause.
Morris’ contribution made an impact on head coach Lue, who said: “We needed that boost from Marcus in the first half to get us going.
“I thought he did a great job with that. We fed off Marcus’ momentum in the first half and kept it going.”
It was the first time Marcus had scored double figures in six games but he could now continue his progress back at the Staple Center.
Morris is 17/20 to score over 13.5 points in game six, which is only marginally above his 13.4 regular-season average.
We are confident the power forward can do just that in the second of our Clippers vs Suns betting tips.
A Look At Phoenix Suns’ Betting Odds
Phoenix will be disappointed not to get over the line in game five, as they aim for a first NBA Finals appearance in 28 years.
The Suns have been in superb form during the post-season, losing only four of their 15 play-off matches, but their young roster is still learning how to get to the next level.
They are led by 11-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul, who produced his best points total of 22 since returning from coronavirus protocols which ruled him out earlier in the series.
Paul is a huge part of the Suns’ attack and his ability to find unmarked team-mates makes him more dangerous than potentially his scoring prowess, leaving that to rising star Devin Booker.
The 24-year-old was Phoenix’s top scorer with 31 points as he continued to lead the offence, even though the Clippers did enough in game five to take the series back to Los Angeles.
Booker will be desperate to guide the Suns to their first Finals since 1993 and his performance on the boards could be the deciding factor.
He can be backed at 13/2 to record his fifth double-double of the post-season, which is rated a value option from the Clippers vs Suns odds.
