Joseph Parker can put himself back in the heavyweight world title picture by edging out Dereck Chisora in Manchester on Saturday night.

The New Zealander held the WBO belt for 15 months before being outpointed by Anthony Joshua in a unification clash and is keen to return to elite level.

We reckon 4/7 for him to prove a cut above a game but limited opponent is the way to go with our first Chisora vs Parker prediction.

A Look At Dereck Chisora’s Betting Odds

Chisora is not nicknamed ‘War’ without good reason and has been involved in a number of notable battles over the past decade.

Unfortunately, the 37-year-old, born in Zimbabwe but a long-time Londoner, has invariably tended to come up short whenever stepping up in class.

Following 14 straight wins, he lost by a unanimous decision when taking on Tyson Fury for the British and Commonwealth titles back in 2011.

Subsequent defeats have come against the likes of Vitali Klitschko, David Haye, Fury again, Kubrat Pulev, Dillian Whyte twice and, most recently, Oleksandr Usyk.

Chisora is strong, willing and durable, with only three of his 10 reversals coming inside the distance.

A lack of class is evident, though, and 7/4 for another points defeat here appeals from the Chisora vs Parker odds.

A Look At Joseph Parker’s Betting Odds

Parker had a decent amateur pedigree and could almost certainly have challenged for a medal at a major games if part of a more successful national programme.

As a pro, he was brought along steadily and racked up 21 consecutive victories before being pitched in with Andy Ruiz for the vacant WBO title in December 2016.

The Kiwi was arguably a touch fortunate to be given a hometown decision in a close contest in Auckland, but that was still a creditable effort.

Parker successfully defended that belt twice, notably beating local hope Hughie Fury in a convincing manner at this venue, even if one judge somehow scored that fight as a draw.

Joshua then proved too good in Cardiff and Parker was edged out by Whyte in a London tussle which saw him get off the canvas twice and his opponent floored in the final round.

Those defeats forced a period of reconciliation, but the technically astute 29-year-old has regrouped with four low-key triumphs.

Assuming his hunger and desire to chase another big pay-day remains intact, Parker is taken to outfox and then outwork a lesser-skilled foe.

There could be some hairy moments along the way, though, so 6/1 he wins after being knocked down at any point is worth adding to our Chisora vs Parker betting tips.
