Few games in world football create as much excitement as the Old Firm derby and we’re hoping both Celtic and Rangers fans have plenty to shout about on Sunday.
The Hoops have won both previous Scottish Premiership meetings this season, but Rangers did at least hit the back of the net on each occasion and 87/100 for both teams to score this weekend looks worth a wager.
A Look At Celtic’s Betting Odds
Celtic survived a scare when claiming their 28th straight domestic win in all competitions by beating St Mirren 4-1 in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals, with the Hoops incredibly trailing at half-time to the 40/1 underdogs before eventually asserting their authority on that match after the interval.
“I wasn’t worried at half-time, but I knew we hadn’t played as well as we could have,” said Brendan Rodgers. “Second half, we just had to stay calm and up the tempo a bit. Once we got the first goal, we really opened up. It was another good demonstration of the players responding to pressure. The players and the supporters stayed calm, stayed behind the team and that’s what you have to do.”
Celtic have now scored 23 goals in their last six matches and will be fired up to put on a show against their biggest rivals.
Celtic’s odds of 27/20 to net at least three times this weekend are sure to attract support.
A Look At Rangers’ Betting Odds
Rangers have hit the back of the net at least once in their last 15 matches and exorcised a few demons when thrashing Hamilton 6-0 in the Scottish Cup, with Joe Garner hitting a hat-trick as the Light Blues ran riot in the second period.
Caretaker manager Graeme Murty was relieved to see the Gers being clinical in front of goal after the break following some recent setbacks and we should be in for a cracking contest if they can carry that momentum into this tussle.
Rangers were thumped 5-1 here back in September but showed much more maturity when only surrendering to an 87th-minute Moussa Dembele strike in the League Cup final at Hampden and they led for 20 minutes before eventually going down 2-1 in this competition at Ibrox.
Having been level at the break in the last two Old Firm derbies, 31/20 for a draw at half-time here has some appeal.
