Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia will both put unbeaten records on the line for this weekend’s much-anticipated Las Vegas showdown.
A bout billed as ‘It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This’ will attract huge attention across the Atlantic and Davis is rated a percentage pick.
Tank has more experience and has fought at a much-higher level, winning multiple world title fights across three weight divisions.
The 28-year-old is fancied to get the job done inside the distance at 4/6 in our first Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia prediction.
Davis fired up for tricky test
Davis enjoyed a stellar amateur career which brought over 200 victories and is 28-0 in the paid ranks, with 26 of his opponents stopped.
He has been a world champion at super-featherweight, lightweight and light-welterweight, beating a series of proven performers.
January’s triumph over undefeated WBA super-featherweight champion Hector Garcia was a tight tussle until Tank struck with some savage blows in the eighth round.
His opponent was retired by his corner after taking heavy punishment, once again highlighting the punching power of Davis.
He said of this test: “Make sure you come early and get your popcorn or whatever you want to get, because this is gonna be an early night for sure.
“This win would mean a lot. Beating someone young, explosive and in their prime says a lot.”
In what should be an exciting encounter, 12/5 for the Baltimore southpaw to win in rounds 5-8 appeals from the Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia odds.
KingRy ready to justify the hype?
Californian Garcia also established himself as a hot prospect during his amateur days, claiming a series of national championship victories.
After turning pro at the age of 17 under Oscar de la Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions banner, KingRy rattled off some flashy triumphs.
He kicked off with a hat-trick of first-round knockouts and only went beyond two rounds once in his opening 10 bouts.
After gradually stepping up in class, a seventh-round stoppage of Britain’s former Olympic gold medal winner Luke Campbell in January 2021 stands out.
However, Garcia did have to get up off the canvas in the second round of that contest, which was Campbell’s last fight before hanging up his gloves.
Following 15 months on the sidelines, the 24-year-old returned to action with two comfortable victories last year, taking his record to 23-0.
This represents by far his stiffest task to date, though, and Garcia will have to fully justify the hype he has carried for some time if he is to compete with Davis.
Our preference is for the more established champion, with 10/1 for a sixth-round stoppage added to our Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia betting tips.
