Ottawa were unfortunate to come up against an inspired New York Rangers outfit last night but can find Winnipeg more conducive company.
The Senators hammered the Jets 5-2 on the road last month and have had some decent results on home ice at Canadian Tire Centre of late.
We reckon 2.55 for the hosts on the money line is good value in our Ottawa Senators vs Winnipeg Jets predictions.

Ottawa Senators Odds
Madison Square Garden was jumping as the red-hot Rangers clinched a place in the playoffs with a 5-1 romp against Ottawa.
“That’s the loudest building we’ve had this year on a Saturday night and their team rewarded them for that,” said Senators coach DJ Smith.
“We didn’t have a lot going and they did. We knew on the way in there was going to be some tough nights and this was one of them for sure.
“There was just not enough of what we usually have, which is our track, our compete, all those things.
“They beat us to all the loose pucks. They were the better team wire to wire.”
However, while some will suggest Ottawa looked like a team with nothing to play for at this stage of the season, we feel that would be harsh.
The Sens had previously shown few signs of throwing in the towel and the Rangers were simply on a roll and too strong right now.
Ottawa began this month with three straight wins before only going down 3-2 to wild card hopefuls Nashville.
Smith will urge his side to start strongly here and regain some momentum, so 2.1 for them to score first is a fair price from the NHL odds.
Winnipeg Jets Odds
Winnipeg’s hopes of sneaking into a wild card spot have been badly dented by going four games without a win.
The Jets did pick up a point from Friday’s entertaining clash with Colorado on home ice, when beaten 5-4 in overtime.
Dave Lowry’s side did well to rally from 4-2 down with late goals at 16:25 and 19:44 in the third period, but couldn’t quite complete the comeback.
“That’s exactly how we want to play,” commented Lowry. “That’s exactly how we’re going to have to play with this team moving forward.
“We did a lot of really good things. We defended hard. We kept a very good team, for the most part, on the outside.”
To be fair, Winnipeg have had some tough fixtures, but they did also lose 3-1 at home to Detroit in disappointing fashion on Wednesday and are too short in the NHL odds for our liking.
Instead, let’s take a punt on Ottawa to be lifted by playing in front of their own fans and secure a 3-2 success at 12.0.
