Calgary Flames Odds
The Flames are back on home ice after they swept a four-game road trip that culminated with a 4-1 win over Seattle on Sunday.
Forward Johnny Gaudreau is just one point short of reaching 100 points for the first time in his eighth full NHL season.
The Flames have won all three games against the Kraken this season and will hope to wrap up the series that will go a long way to securing top spot in the Pacific Division.
Defenceman Noah Hanifin had four assists in that win over the Kraken on Sunday but he hopes the Flames can tidy things up in their own end.
“It was a good night,” said Hanifin. “I thought, obviously, it’s a big two points for our team and finishing the road trip with a win.
“There are definitely some things we can clean up as a team, especially in the D zone.
“I thought Marky (goaltender Jacob Markstrom) had a great night for us, made some huge saves, but overall, it was good to get some depth scoring and we’re going to need that as we get later in the season.”
The Flames are on a roll and, looking at the NHL odds, a win for them with over 6.5 goals is 2.55.
Seattle Kraken Odds
Seattle’s first draft pick Matty Beniers could make his NHL debut.
Beniers was taken second overall in June’s draft before playing out the season in college with the University of Michigan.
He practiced with the team for the first time on Monday, skating on a line with Jordan Eberle and Ryan Donato.
Beniers insisted too many nerves will not affect him if he suits up at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
“Before a game I like to get anxious, get excited,” Beniers said.
“I don’t think a ton of nerves [Tuesday or when he debuts]. It’s hockey, I’ve been doing it my whole life.
“But to be out on the ice with a packed crowd, the first couple minutes will be exciting with chills and nerves for sure.”
It could be a long night for the Kraken against the Flames, who can win the first period at 1.87 in the last of our NHL predictions.
