Seattle Kraken vs Ottawa Senators predictions

Face-off: 2200 ET, 18/04/2022

Arena: Climate Pledge Arena

Seattle and Ottawa were both involved in overtime battles on Saturday, so the signs are that they are still prepared to fight for points.

It was also a draw at the end of regulation play when these teams met in Canada last month, when the Senators shaded a 4-3 scoreline.

We’re going with 4.1 for another stalemate after 60 minutes in our Seattle Kraken vs Ottawa Senators predictions.

Seattle Kraken Odds

Seattle bounced back from two defeats by high-flying Calgary when beating New Jersey 4-3 at this venue via a shoot-out.

Matty Beniers, the number two overall pick in last year’s NHL Draft, netted in just his second appearance against the Devils.

Coach Dave Hakstol said: “He played a good, solid hockey game and he and his line-mates made some solid plays.

“He controls the puck in all three zones. As a centre, he does a very good job of being in the right spots to receive the puck and make the next play.

“The creativity is there and, as his confidence grows, we’ll see more and more.”

Jared McCann had two assists in that game and is now tied with Yanni Gourde at the top of Seattle’s points chart on 43.

Looking at the NHL odds for this match, McCann is fairly priced at 1.78 to add to his tally with a goal or an assist.

Ottawa Senators Odds

Ottawa followed up wins at Detroit and Boston with another encouraging effort when only going down 5-4 in overtime versus Toronto.

The Senators led 2-0, 3-1 and 4-3 but couldn’t quite hang on against the playoffs-bound Maple Leafs.

Tim Stutzle opened the scoring and has now picked up at least one point in eight straight outings.

“He continues to get better,” declared coach DJ Smith. “He’s playing against the league’s best and he’s not backing down.

“Again, he might have been the best player out there, he’s certainly one of them.”

Stutzle later added his 20th goal of the season and said: “I just try to play my game every day and night – and I think it’s working pretty good right now.”

Both of these sides are still trying to be positive as their campaigns wind down and another entertaining encounter is expected.

Let’s add 2.85 for each team to score at least three times to our NHL predictions.
