Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit Red Wings predictions

Face-off: 1930 ET, 06/04/2022

Arena: Canada Life Centre

Winnipeg sit seven points behind the Dallas Stars for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference as they aim to arrest a two-game losing streak.

Detroit are all but out of the playoffs, trailing Washington for the final spot in the East by 21 points with only 24 points to play for.

This is a prime chance for the hosts to cash in and a win by two goals at 6.25 is the first of our Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit Red Wings predictions.

Winnipeg Jets Odds

It has been a season of inconsistency for the Jets and as we come down the stretch they will be relying heavily on their big guns.

Kyle Connor leads them with 41 goals in 67 games and Winnipeg will need him in games like this to keep the pressure on those above them.

The Jets won 3-0 when these teams met in Detroit earlier this season and a repeat would suit them down to the ground.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck is taking things one day at a time as they hunt down a playoff spot.

Hellebuyck said: “I’m looking ahead, but it’s not like I’m living my day-to-day thinking ‘Oh, we gotta do this, we gotta do this’ ahead of time.

“My day-by-day is just that day. Because that’s all I can control in the now. And then at the end of the day you look at where are we at?”

Home ice should be a difference maker here and the Jets to win with over 5.5 goals at 2.15 is added to our NHL predictions.

Detroit Red Wings Odds

Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic should be full of confidence after a career-best performance on Tuesday night.

Nedeljkovic turned aside 47 shots as the Red Wings overcame Boston 5-3.

Dylan Larkin, Michael Rasmussen, Filip Zadina, Jakub Vrana and Sam Gagner all found the net against the Bruins, as Detroit came from 2-0 down to end a six-game losing run.

Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill believes working hard is the key for Detroit to grind out victories.

Blashill said: “We gotta grind. We gotta dig in, find a way to play really good and win a hockey game. The more wins you string together, the better you feel about yourself.”

The visitors could feed off the emotional win over Boston and even take the first period here at 3.75 in the Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit Red Wings odds.
