Winnipeg are within touching distance of the playoffs themselves as the season moves down the stretch.
And they could receive a major boost against the Stars with the return from injury of winger Nikolaj Ehlers.
Ehlers, who has 13 goals and 12 assists in 34 games this season, has missed 19 matches with a knee injury.
The Dame feels he is ready to return and said: “I’m ready to go and I talked to the medical staff about it as well.
“It feels great. Not just being on the ice and practicing with the guys, but being around the guys.
“A couple weeks alone in Winnipeg while the guys are on the road isn’t as fun as it sounds.”
Ehlers was hurt in a knee-on-knee collision with Washington’s Dmitry Orlov at the beginning of 2022.
Winnipeg have scored 13 goals in their last two games, so going forward is not a problem.

Bowness said: “Even though we were down 3-1, we were really confident in the way we were playing.
“We were controlling play and getting tons of chances. We just had to stay with the programme. Play the right way, keep doing those things, and we got rewarded.”
Forward Alexander Radulov scored his third goal of the season against the Kings and is confident that if they work hard, the points will keep coming.
He said: “We’re a good team and if we put up the good work, we’re still going to be there.”
Winnipeg have had the hot hand lately, though, and a fast start can be expected before the Stars settle into their rhythm.
