Face-off: 2200 ET, 16/03/2022
Arena: Scotiabank Saddledome
Calgary should prove too strong for New Jersey at fortress Saddledome but the visitors are playing well enough to have their moments.
It was 5-3 in favour of the Flames when these teams met at Prudential Center earlier this season and another entertaining encounter is expected in Canada.
We like 2.95 for a home win in regular time and both teams to score at least twice in our Calgary Flames vs New Jersey Devils predictions.

Calgary Flames Odds
Calgary were beaten 3-0 at Colorado last time out but that was always going to be a tough task when trying to back-up over the weekend.
The Flames had brushed aside Detroit by the same scoreline at this venue the previous day, improving their home record to 14-1-1 over the past couple of months.
Despite being in a comfortable position at the top of the Pacific Division table, there is no chance of Darryl Sutter resting on his laurels.
“In this business, you can’t be satisfied, that’s the bottom line,” he declared. “If you’re not trying to get better, then somebody else is.
“That relates to the individual and as a team. Anybody who’s comfortable or cosy, you won’t last long.”
That disciplined approach has served Calgary well in games they are supposed to win, with plenty of convincing victories claimed.
Looking at the NHL odds for this fixture, we’re going with 4.1 for the Flames to prevail by exactly three goals.
New Jersey Devils Odds
New Jersey have only been playing for pride for a while now, but that hasn’t stopped them from putting in some fine performances.
Pittsburgh, Vancouver, St Louis, Colorado and Anaheim have been beaten in a 5-5-0 record over their last 10 outings.
Four of those wins were on home ice, though, and the Devils began a three-match road trip with a 6-3 defeat at Vancouver last night.
We landed a couple of successful bets in our preview of that game, including 3.4 for the Canucks to win and both teams to score more than once.
New Jersey never gave up, though, with Jack Hughes posting a goal and an assist to keep it to 4-3 after two periods.
Defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler was a late withdrawal due to illness, while forward Pavel Zacha went off injured early on.
However, Jesper Bratt admitted: “You’ve got to be honest with yourself and say they were better than us.”
We feel it may be another case of being game but outgunned here, so 12.5 for a 5-2 home win completes our NHL predictions.
