What Trueform says for Celtic vs RB Leipzig
Celtic face an uphill battle to qualify for the Europa League knockout stages after two away defeats but can keep their hopes alive by edging out RB Leipzig in Glasgow.
Both teams made a number of changes when the Hoops went down 2-0 to the same opponents in Germany two weeks ago but Brendan Rodgers is expected to take the return fixture more seriously.
Having already beaten Rosenberg at Parkhead on Matchday 1, we reckon 29/10 for the hosts to prevail is tempting enough to be our opening Celtic vs RB Leipzig prediction.
A Look At Celtic’s Betting Odds
Celtic’s away record in Europe is notoriously bad and they predictably struggled in Leipzig when missing Scott Brown, Tom Rogic and James Forrest through injury and suspension.
However, they have since hit form on the domestic front, reaching the Scottish League Cup final before enjoying impressive 5-0 wins over both Dundee and Hearts in the Premiership.
Rodgers described Saturday’s demolition of the Jambos as “an outstanding team performance” and insists all is not lost in Europe.
“We’re still in with a great chance,” he said. “We knew our home games were going to be vital.”
On facing Leipzig again, the manager added: “I’ve seen enough to know we can win at home.
“We know if we’re going to have any aspirations of coming out of the group, then it’s a game we have to win.”
We reckon the Hoops will try to take control from the outset and 11/2 for the hosts to lead at half-time and full-time appeals from the Celtic vs RB Leipzig odds.
A Look At RB Leipzig’s Betting Odds
Leipzig ran out worthy winners when these teams met in Germany, with Matheus Cunha and Bruma netting and another effort coming back off the post.
However, Ralf Rangnick does seem to regard this competition as far less significant than the Bundesliga, especially with his team well placed in third behind Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
Several key players are set to be rested ahead of Sunday’s clash with Bayer Leverkusen and that could leave them vulnerable, as when going down 3-2 to RB Salzburg on Matchday 1.
Ryan Christie went close to giving Celtic an early lead at Red Bull Arena and we’re hoping for a fast start from the Hoops, who have secured five wins and a draw from their last six European games at Parkhead.
Let’s add 29/20 for the home team to score first to our Celtic vs RB Leipzig betting tips.
