Rangers suffered a disappointing loss at Livingston in the SPL on Sunday but can make amends by beating Rapid Vienna in the Europa League.
The visitors kicked off their Group G campaign with a good win over Spartak Moscow but have been struggling in Austria’s top flight this term.
Steven Gerrard will have his side fired up and 21/20 for a home victory is our first Rangers vs Rapid Vienna prediction.
A Look At Rangers’ Betting Odds
Rangers’ 1-0 reversal at Livingston continued a moderate run of away form on the domestic front, with Gerrard left to rue some tame attacking efforts.
He said: “The performance was okay in terms of possession and we controlled a lot of the game.
“But we were nowhere near good enough in the final third. We could be playing for another 180 minutes and wouldn’t look like scoring.
“The players and ourselves have had a lot of praise thrown our way for scoring heavily and being creative and being ruthless, but we saw none of that.”
However, Rangers have been impressive under Gerrard at Ibrox, securing seven wins and a draw from eight games in all competitions.
With 13 goals scored in recent defeats of Dundee, St Johnstone and Ayr, Rangers look well placed to build on an opening 2-2 draw at Villarreal in this pool.
A Look At Rapid Vienna’s Betting Odds
Rapid Vienna did well to beat Steaua Bucharest in a qualifying round to reach this stage and will have been pleased with a 2-0 triumph over Spartak Moscow on Matchday 1.
However, three straight domestic defeats have cast a shadow over that performance, especially losing 2-0 at home to St Polten on Saturday.
To be fair, though, Goran Djuricin’s side have managed to hit the target in all seven away matches this term.
That includes trips to face Steaua, Sturm Graz and RB Salzburg, so it may be worth backing them to bag a consolation strike in Glasgow.
Let’s add 4/1 for the hosts to prevail 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 to our Rangers vs Rapid Vienna betting tips.
Last Europa League result:
