Malmo vs Chelsea: Routine win will do for holders

Kick-off: 1745, 02/11/2021

Stadium: Eleda Stadion

TV: BT Sport

Chelsea can close in on a place in the Champions League knockout rounds by brushing aside Group H whipping boys Malmo again in Sweden.

The Blues cruised to a 4-0 victory when these teams met at Stamford Bridge, leaving Malmo without a point from three matches and zero goals.

It is hard to get away from 88/100 for Thomas Tuchel’s side to win to nil for our first Malmo vs Chelsea prediction.

A Look At Malmo’s Betting Odds

Malmo did well to battle through four qualifying rounds, with Rangers among their victims, but have predictably found life tough at this level.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side are again leading the way in the Swedish Allsvenskan following back-to-back wins over AIK Solna and IK Sirius.

However, their European exploits have cruelly exposed limitations, starting out with a 3-0 home loss to Juventus.

Zenit hammered Malmo 4-0 in Saint Petersburg and the scoreline was the same when they visited Chelsea.

The London outfit do have a few injury problems heading into the return fixture, though, so 23/4 for a routine 2-0 triumph this time takes the eye from the Malmo vs Chelsea odds.

A Look At Chelsea’s Betting Odds

Chelsea began the defence of their trophy by only just shading Zenit 1-0 and then went down by the same scoreline away to Juventus.

Two penalties from Jorginho alongside goals for Andreas Christensen and Kai Havertz helped put them back on track versus Malmo on Matchday 3.

However, that triumph did come at a cost, with Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner picking up injuries which have since kept them out.

Tuchel’s men have still managed to power three points clear at the top of the Premier League by beating Norwich and Newcastle by a combined score of 10-0.

Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic have also been sidelined while Mason Mount missed the trip to St James’ Park through illness.

Chelsea’s strength in depth means they should still be able to get the job done in Scandinavia, though.

Havertz was noted getting into some good positions at Newcastle on Saturday and 13/5 for him to score first for the visitors is added to our Malmo vs Chelsea betting tips.
