Blackpool and Exeter both made it through thrilling League Two play-off semi-finals and we’re going with the latter to now secure promotion at Wembley on Sunday.
Just one point separated these teams during the regular season, but the Grecians get the nod as a result of claiming a division-high 13 away wins, proving they can handle testing situations.
We’re kicking off our League Two play-off final betting tips by backing Exeter to go up at 83/100.
A Look At Blackpool’s Betting Odds
Blackpool have had to overcome yet more trials and tribulations off the field to get this far, but the spirit that has created was evident in a 6-5 aggregate win over Luton.
After coming from behind to shade the first leg 3-2 on home turf, the Seasiders recovered from going 3-1 down at Kenilworth Road to claim a draw that saw them progress, albeit aided by an injury-time own goal.
“We were 14th back in February and have gone on an incredible run,” said Gary Bowyer. “The courage these boys had to come back was brilliant and this is what you play football for.”
However, there were times when Luton dominated Blackpool in open play and we like 29/20 for Exeter to win in 90 minutes from the League Two play-off final odds.
A Look At Exeter City’s Betting Odds
Exeter’s defeat of Carlisle also came via a 6-5 aggregate scoreline and was just as dramatic, with City drawing 3-3 in Cumbria before shading a 3-2 victory at St James Park.
The Grecians had let slip a 3-1 lead in the opening encounter and gave up a 2-0 advantage on home turf before Jack Stacey’s 95th-minute winner finally saw off plucky United.
City were at the foot of the table in November and Paul Tisdale said: “It’s been a very determined last 30 games to go from the bottom of the league to the play-off final – and we’ve still got more to go.”
An excellent run since the turn of the year included road wins against table-toppers Portsmouth and third-placed Doncaster, so we’re going with 7/2 for City to win and both teams to score in another entertaining encounter.
