World Cup price boosts

Kick-off: 1500, 29/11/2022

Stadium: Al Bayt Stadium

Netherlands will be keen to clinch top spot in Group A when taking on already-eliminated hosts Qatar.

The Dutch are only ahead of Ecuador on fair play points and must at least match El Tri’s result versus Senegal, who are a point behind in third ahead of the last round of fixtures.

We’re going with Holland to win by more than two clear goals at 23/20 for our first Netherlands vs Qatar prediction.

Netherlands Odds

Louis van Gaal’s side took a while to warm up in their opening game against Senegal but finished strongly for a 2-0 victory.

PSV forward Cody Gakpo broke the deadlock on 84 minutes and Davy Klaassen wrapped things up with a fine strike deep into stoppage time.

Netherlands hit the ground running versus Ecuador, when highly-rated 23-year-old Gakpo smashed in a sixth-minute thunderbolt.

However, that proved to be one of only two efforts on target they had in the whole match and La Tri fought back for a deserved 1-1 draw.

In fact, it could have been even worse for Holland, as the South Americans had a goal disallowed and also hit the crossbar.

“I think we did not play a good match,” commented Van Gaal. “We didn’t play well in ball possession, that was our problem in the first match.

“We had so many different players playing the ball to the wrong colour and all the second balls, all the duels, were for Ecuador.

“We’re working on (keeping) possession and we will continue to work on that. Whether we will make it, I can’t guarantee that.

“But I think so, we have several options in the midfield and I can try them out.”

Van Gaal is a past master at finding solutions, leading his nation to a third-place finish at the 2014 World Cup.

With Memphis Depay still working his way back to match sharpness following injury problems, the form of rising star Gakpo has been a major boost.

This looks a good chance for him to impress again and 14/5 for the one-time Manchester United target to net first once more appeals from the Netherlands vs Qatar odds.

Qatar Odds

Qatar were simply lifeless in a 2-0 loss to Ecuador first up and started out in a similar fashion versus Senegal.

Boulaye Dia and Famara Diedhiou struck either side of half-time to put the African champions in control.

Felix Sanchez’s side did finally show some spirit and at least went down fighting as Mohammed Muntari scored their first World Cup goal on 78 minutes.

However, that thumping header proved in vain, as Bamba Dieng swept home Senegal’s game-clinching third goal in the closing stages.

The Maroon must now be resigned to suffering an early exit before even facing what was supposed to be their toughest test.

Another consolation goal is achievable, as the Dutch defence can be prone to lapses in concentration.

But 18/5 for Holland to win by exactly three goals is added to our Netherlands vs Qatar betting tips, along with 29/2 for a 4-1 correct score prediction.
