“We’re here to build history,” declared Diacre. “The players here and the staff, we want to make history for ourselves, and there is still a bit of a way to go.
“We’ve reached a new level, but that’s not the end for us. We really want to reach the final. When we set out our ambitions, we were looking ahead to July 31.”
Wendie Renard remains a tower of strength at the back and France have the most creative talent at this tournament in Lyon winger Delphine Cascarino.
Katoto’s early exit has left them without a natural goalscorer, though, and that could ultimately count against them.
