Manchester United have a good record against Anderlecht from previous meetings and they are favourites to advance again after this season’s Europa League quarter-final clash.
The Busby Babes famously crushed the Belgian outfit 10-0 way back in 1956 and United have also obliged 5-1 and 3-0 at Old Trafford, but Anderlecht will take heart from having at least prevailed on home turf in the last couple of encounters.
It won’t be easy again in Brussels, but after looking at the Anderlecht v Man Utd betting for the first leg, we still like 9/10 for the Red Devils to prove a class apart.

Anderlecht were always in control of their last-16 tie with Apoel Nicosia, despite only taking each match 1-0, and they have generally done well at home in European fixtures this term.
However, there are two clear form lines which give United a definite advantage, as Rostov won 2-0 here in a Champions League qualifier back in August and St Etienne recorded a 3-2 success in the pool stage of this competition.
Jose Mourinho’s side have sent both of those clubs packing in the knockout rounds so far and we can see no reason why Anderlecht can upset the Premier League team on that evidence.

Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat of Rostov at Old Trafford wasn’t exactly pretty, but they poured on plenty of pressure going forward and the result was never really in doubt, even if they did lack the cutting edge to totally finish their opponents off.
United have been busy chasing success on four fronts this season and there have been some signs of wear and tear, with Paul Pogba and Daley Blind picking up injuries in the second leg against Rostov and Jose Mourinho making several references to fatigue in his post-match interview.
However, with the EFL Cup won and the FA Cup bid over, there is just this and the Premier League to focus on, so things should settle down. With Anderlecht lacking any star quality up front, United appeal at 21/10 to win to nil.
