Preparation for the US Open Ladies
Before the US Women's Open, there are two Masters 1000s on a hard outdoor court in Montreal and Cincinnati. For this American tour, bet on the ATP Montreal tournament.
For the 2021 US Grand Slam, the stadium's capacity will return to 100%, and the theme of the US Open will revolve around the Statue of Liberty. Originally a beacon of acceptance for immigrants entering the United States, the statue was transformed by artist Conrad Garner for this year's US Open themed art. In her dynamic and modern interpretation, Lady Liberty's iconic torch is replaced by a tennis racket.
Bets on the US Women's Open 2021
100 of the 104 best players in the world have confirmed their presence for the US Women's Open.
Naomi Osaka won her 2nd US Open Ladies' singles title last year, beating Victoria Azarenka 2 sets to 1 in the final and won her 2nd Australian Open title in February. Citing mental health reasons in her dealings with media worldwide, she stepped out in the 3rd round of her home Olympics. This year, Naomi Osaka will look to win her 3rd Women's US Open title and become the second player in the past ten years to achieve the double on the hardcourt the same season after winning the Australian Open. Angelique Kerber (2016) was the other winner.
Serena Williams is the other player to have won a Grand Slam the same season before Flushing Meadows (Wimbledon 2012 and Roland-Garros 2013).
The women's circuit has been more open for the past few years, with Serena Williams no longer being the dominant force since her maternity break. The US Women's Open honour roll for the past five years highlights the refreshing nature of the competition. Just two top ten ranked players managed to enter the US Open and actually won the tournament, while only three made it to the final.
The three previous winners of the Women's US Open before 2020 recorded their first Grand Slam successes, and none had yet made it past the 4th round at Flushing Meadows. Bianca Andreescu had never made it past the first qualifying rounds in her previous two US Open appearances.
Recommended bets in the US Open Women’s draw
If the trend of recent winners continues in New York City, you can expect not to see the list of top ten contenders in the running for the 2021 Women's US Open championship. Considering four of the last six winners ranked outside the top 15, it's an open book for betting on the Women's US Open this season.
