The 2022 WRC season runs over 12 rounds from January to November and passes through many continents. These include Oceania with the New Zealand rally, Asia with Japan, Africa with Kenya, and of course, the many European stages that make up the majority of the calendar.

WRC bets in 2022

WRC drivers and co-drivers compete on all types of terrain such as asphalt, gravel and ice. Their driving skills are pushed to the limit and beyond.

In each rally, the race is spread over three days with different stages called "specials". The winner is the one who finishes them all in the shortest time.

Three manufacturers have committed themselves to at least 2024 with the Toyota Yaris, Hyundai i20 and Ford Puma model vehicles. However, these are not production cars. Instead, they are built around a tubular chassis to increase the safety of those on board.

The introduction of hybrid engines on rallies

Organized by the FIA, which is also in charge of Formula 1 (all bets on F1), the new regulations in force have emphasized the use of hybrid-powered cars.

In addition to the 1.6 turbo engine (380hp), an electric motor of 100kw will be added, identical for all cars. It provides a power boost at the beginning of the stage limited to 1000Kj, and it will charge during each acceleration.

In some sectors of the sections, the piloting will have a more crucial part than usual. The cars will be more difficult to handle because of the weight of the battery providing more inertia.

Recommended betting on the WRC

You can also make bets throughout the rally season, such as who will win the WRC title. This is mainly a driver's market, and the odds can change dramatically.

For the past two decades, the French front-runners (apart from the 2019 season), Sebastien Loeb and Sebastien Ogier, have won the entire championship. Therefore we recommended betting on the two French rally legends to win the title as they are the two most successful drivers in the supreme category.

However, the French drivers have already announced that they will not participate in all the races this season. Their presence will be sporadic on the world tour, so new drivers could take the opportunity to compete for the title at the end of the season.
