The major annual competition of women's volleyball

The competition is played over three weeks in its regular-season phase. The nations are divided into two groups - each consisting of eight teams. the top four teams from each group will progress to the final knockout stage of the competition.

The country hosting the competition will automatically go through to the knockout phase and the other seven teams will be those who finished highest in their groups, or in the event of a tie, will be the team deemed to be the strongest by the FIVB.

The match format is five sets and the winner is the team that first wins 3 sets. To win a set, a team must reach 25 points by two clear points. If a match goes to 5 sets, the winner is there first to 15 points by two clear points. With a break between each set, that is a good time to place live bets.

Group matches favour nations with a large roster

With a high match rate, the most successful nations are the ones with a good reserve of substitutes. The rosters fluctuate based on availability and performance which dictates which of the 14 players from the 25-member pool will be selected for each match.
