Sweden and Finland step up their preparations for Euro 2020 when facing off in a warm-up match at Friends Arena in Solna.
Janne Andersson’s side boast the better recent form from March’s international break and get the nod to prevail on home turf.
However, their opponents have gone 10 games without being nilled, so 29/10 for the Swedes to win and both teams to score is our first Sweden vs Finland prediction.
A Look At Sweden’s Betting Odds
Sweden will feature in Group E at Euro 2020 alongside Poland, Slovakia and Spain and should enter that tournament in good spirits.
Andersson’s side were solid in qualifying, picking up six wins and three draws from 10 outings.
Finishing bottom of a tough Nations League pool behind France, Portugal and Croatia last year may have exposed their limitations.
However, Sweden made a useful start to World Cup qualifying earlier this year, beating Georgia 1-0 and Kosovo 3-0.
There was also a 1-0 friendly success versus Estonia, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic coming out of international retirement during that run of games.
Sadly, the AC Milan striker has been ruled out of Euro 2020 with a knee injury but Marcus Berg can lead the way up front, having netted 23 times from 84 caps.
Looking at the Sweden vs Finland odds, we feel 8/5 for a home win and over 2.5 goals is another decent option.
A Look At Finland’s Betting Odds
Finland can look forward to facing Belgium, Denmark and Russia in Group B at Euro 2020 and will hope to belie being outsiders to progress from that pool.
Despite losing both matches to group winners Italy in qualifying, they left Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina trailing in their wake to reach a first major tournament.
Norwich goal machine Teemu Pukki appears integral to their chances this summer but is unlikely to figure here as he recovers from an ankle injury.
Pukki has scored 30 goals in 90 appearances for Finland and the rest of the squad have only managed 20 between them.
This is a chance for other players to step up to the plate and push their claims for a Euro 2020 starting place, though.
Form-wise, Finland were a fair second to Wales in a Nations League B-level pool, beating Republic of Ireland twice.
In March, they had World Cup score draws with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ukraine before going down 3-2 to Switzerland in a friendly.
Head coach Markku Kanerva may take a cautious approach to this contest in terms of those players carrying knocks but his teams usually adopt positive tactics.
Let’s finish off our Sweden vs Finland betting tips by taking 17/4 for both sides to score in the first half.
