Liverpool began the defence of their Champions League crown with a 2-0 defeat to Napoli in Group E.
Leeds-born Erling Braut Haaland netted a first-half hat-trick on his European Cup debut as RB Salzburg thrashed Genk 6-2 in their opening game, but this will be a totally different test.
A home win and both teams to score at 23/20 is our opening Liverpool vs Salzburg prediction.

The Reds became the first champions since AC Milan in 1994 to lose their first game courtesy of late goals from Dries Mertens and Fernando Llorente.
However, they also lost in Naples in the group stage last season before going on to lift the European Cup for a sixth time.
Mertens converted from the spot in the 82nd minute before Virgil van Dijk’s error allowed former Tottenham striker Llorente to seal the win in stoppage time.
Boss Jurgen Klopp, whose side have now lost six of their last eight away games in the Champions League, said: “When we conceded to go 1-0 down, that was the game changer. We have to accept the result.
“We are really critical of ourselves but it was not a really, really bad performance, it was a game which we could have won at Napoli, but we didn’t because we didn’t score.
“We wanted to have at least a point and we didn’t get that because of the penalty.
“I’m pretty sure there are different views on that situation but when a player jumps before there is contact, then it cannot be a penalty. That’s how it is and now we carry on, that’s it.”
The Reds scored two or more goals in four of their six home games in this competition last season so, looking at the Liverpool vs Salzburg odds, let’s take 9/1 for a 3-1 home win.

Haaland continued his stunning scoring form this season with another treble as Salzburg marked their return to the competition by hammering Belgian champions Genk.
The son of former Leeds midfielder Alf-Inge posted his fourth hat-trick in nine games as the Austrian side won their first match at this level since the 1994/95 season.
Haaland, 19, was also in the spotlight in May when he scored a staggering nine times in Norway’s 12-0 victory over Honduras at the Under-20 World Cup.
Coach Jesse Marsch told UEFA.com: “Positive, energetic, electrifying.
“He works hard and takes nothing for granted. Of course, he’s talented, but when you combine it with his personality, that’s what makes him really special. He’s only going to get better.”
Hwang Hee-chan, Dominik Szoboszlai and Andreas Ulmer also netted to make it a miserable start for Genk, who are back at Europe’s top table for the first time in eight years.
The Austrian side have scored in the first half in every game this season, so 12/5 both teams find the net in the first 45 minutes completes our Liverpool vs Salzburg betting tips.
Last Champions League result:
Napoli 2-0 LIVERPOOL
SALZBURG 6-2 Genk – Haaland (3), Hwang, Szoboszlai, Ulmer
