The Czechs did have chances, as Antonin Barak forced Fernando Muslera into a smart save at the base of a post while Patrik Schick headed wide from six yards and later hit the crossbar.
That suggests Wales are capable of getting on the scoresheet, but Uruguay’s array of players based with high-ranking Spanish, Italian and Portuguese clubs look on a different level overall.
