AC Milan vs Chelsea prediction, betting tips & odds

Kick-off: 2000, 11/10/2022

Stadium: San Siro

TV: BT Sport

Chelsea thumped AC Milan 3-0 at Stamford Bridge but are expected to face a stiffer test in the return Champions League fixture at the San Siro.

The Blues have not been as convincing on the road this season and the Rossoneri will be buoyed by Saturday’s Serie A win over Juventus at this venue.

Group E is proving a very tight pool and 12/5 for these sides to share the spoils in Italy is our first AC Milan vs Chelsea prediction.

AC Milan Odds

Milan slipped below Chelsea on goal difference following the defeat in London, with both teams trailing RB Salzburg by a point and lying one ahead of Dinamo Zagreb.

Last week, Rade Krunic squandered a golden chance to draw the Rossoneri level just before the interval but otherwise they created little and were comfortably second best.

Manager Stefano Pioli said: “We could have done much better. It’s clear that our opponents played at a very high level but in our decision-making, we weren’t accurate enough.

“We didn’t start the game particularly badly but after a couple of minutes we tried to do things that weren’t part of our game and our opponents were able to exploit the space in behind us, they were so quick.

“We need to try and reverse this result at the San Siro in the next game.”

Milan had previously beaten Zagreb 3-1 here on Matchday 2 after a 1-1 draw in Salzburg, while their 2-0 win versus Juve made it four victories from five Serie A games at the San Siro.

Former Blues striker Olivier Giroud has netted in big games against Inter, Zagreb and Napoli this term and is 5/1 to break the deadlock in the AC Milan vs Chelsea odds.

Chelsea Odds

Chelsea opened their European campaign with a 1-0 loss in Zagreb under Thomas Tuchel and then drew 1-1 at home to Salzburg in Graham Potter’s first match in charge.

The Blues have since rattled off three straight wins, beating Crystal Palace and Wolves in the Premier League either side of mauling Milan.

Potter was able to make seven changes versus Wanderers at the weekend and still enjoy a 3-0 success which left Chelsea fourth in the domestic table.

Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja found the net and the head coach beamed: “It’s important that we have a strong group, a strong collective.

“It’s credit to the players because there’s a good group here, I can’t complain.”

Rumours of discontent in the dressing room during the latter stages of Tuchel’s reign appear to have quickly disappeared since Potter’s arrival.

Even so, it’s still too soon to ignore a patchy away record which features losses in Leeds, Southampton and Zagreb, plus scrappy wins at Everton and Palace.

We feel 4/1 for the scores to be level at half-time and full-time is worth adding to our AC Milan vs Chelsea betting tips.
