About

The UEFA Champions League has been dominated by a select few clubs over recent years from a select few countries - namely Germany and Spain. But does that mean that those nations are the most influential in the competition?

After all, it was a Frenchman who managed Real Madrid to unprecedented Champions League glory in both 2016 and 2017. A Brazilian, Uruguayan, and a Croatian fired Barcelona to victory in the same competition in 2015.

Nation of Champions explores the business end of the tournament over the last two decades, analysing every player’s, manager’s, and even referee’s performance.

Each display is then put through a scoring system to discover which country has made their mark in the pinnacle of European club football.

Feel free to explore which countries contributions have risen over the years and which have fallen.
