Bet on the World Cup

The World Cup is the main sporting event in the life of a footballer. The top dream of most players is to win this trophy. And for bettors, placing a bet is a great way to enjoy the games and support your country. Bet on all football events and the World Cup with bwin.

Betting on the World Cup groups

The qualifications for the next World Cup 2022 in Qatar are almost over, and the draw for the groups has already taken place. Bettors can now analyze the odds of the favourites to lift the trophy in Qatar.

The qualified nations have only a few international windows left to prepare well for the tournament. In particular, there will be four Nations League matches in June and then two in September (all 2022/23 Nations League betting).

Winter preparation will be the focus of betting

Unusually, the competition will not take place at the end of the season but rather in December, which has irritated the organizers of the major European leagues.

Located in a desert area, the World Cup could not take place during the hot season in Qatar, so the alternative solution of playing in winter was chosen. Only three substitutes will be allowed during regulation time.

In addition, the preparations of the national teams will be truncated with many players playing in Europe. The clubs that pay the players' wages will only release them at the last moment, about ten days before the start of the competition.

One of the leagues that will be impacted the most is the Premier League as it is played partly during the holiday season and many EPL teams have a large number of internationals in their squads. Therefore, betting on the Premier League in the 2022/23 season will be intriguing.

Betting on a European or South American nation

Since the start of the World Cup, only nations from the UEFA and CONMEBOL zones have lifted the Jules Rimet Trophy. Europe has 13 places while South America has 4.5 places out of the 32 places available.

Among the favourites who have odds below two digits, we find France, who will come to defend the crown they acquired in 2018, followed by Brazil at 6.50 and then England at 7.50. Beware, however. In the previous World Cup, the defending champion did not get through the group stage.

The real competition starts after the group matches. The final table with knockout matches will start on December 3 in Doha. From that moment on, the matches will be decisive. A winner will have to be determined with extra time in case of a tie followed by a penalty shootout.
