Swiss Super League

Super League is the name of the elite soccer league in Switzerland, not to be confused with the other Super League, where the best European teams hold an ambition to create a closed league that will generate gala matches among Europe's football elite.

The Swiss football league is competitive As only ten teams participate in the Swiss Super League, a team can quickly move from a low position in the league to land a European qualification place. The regular season spans 36 games, as each team plays the other four times — twice at home and twice away.

Foreign investments and sponsorships are also rare. Most of the major shareholders are Swiss, and many clubs are run on a membership basis which keeps decisions more democratic.

Betting on the Super League

Teams Young Boys, FC Basel, and FC Zurich regularly dominate the Swiss league.

The defending champions qualify for the first qualifying round of the Champions League. The other two teams that complete the podium play games in the C4 — a competition sponsored by bwin. Place your bets on the Europa Conference League with bwin.

The bottom team in the league is automatically relegated to the Challenge League, while the second-to-last team plays a two-legged playoff against the Challenge League runner-up. Place your Challenge League bets on our sports betting platform.

Swiss clubs focus on developing talented youngsters rather than acquiring expensive foreign talent. Switzerland is one of the biggest suppliers of local players in the Big Five leagues — contributing to the success of the Nati, the Swiss national team, but less to the development of the Super League.

Recommended bets on the Super League

This season, the number of goals is very high in the Swiss league. We are on an average of 3.38 goals per game since the beginning of the season. Therefore, in Swiss football, we recommend betting on games with goals. Forty-two per cent of the games this season have had more than 3.5 goals.

It is also noteworthy that three-quarters of the games end with both teams scoring. Betting on the home team and the visiting team to score at least one goal is an often winning bet in the Swiss Super League this season.

The SFL and the European Leagues

Nine European leagues (Denmark, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Slovakia and Switzerland), united under the umbrella of the European Leagues, have just joined forces to sell their international audiovisual rights. The Swiss football elite will soon be available to punters worldwide.
